Complex Elective Orthopedics

Orthopedic care in China, coordinated for insurers, TPAs and international patients

For complex elective orthopedic cases involving long waits, limited local treatment options or high private-care costs, JINGBEI connects insurers, TPAs and international patients with Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, home to the 国家骨科医学中心 (National Center for Orthopedics) — supported by specialist-led case review, transparent treatment estimates and end-to-end cross-border care coordination.

How We Are Structured

Three roles, one coordinated pathway

Beijing-based specialists

Case assessment. Orthopedic specialists in Beijing review each case and issue a written assessment in English before anyone travels.

Shanghai Sixth

Clinical care and surgery. Treatment is delivered at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, home to the 国家骨科医学中心 (National Center for Orthopedics).

JINGBEI

Insurance and cross-border coordination. We handle pre-authorization support, travel, admission, interpretation, settlement documentation and follow-up.

JINGBEI is a cross-border medical service coordinator and third-party administrator. It is not a hospital and does not provide medical care, diagnosis or treatment. Clinical care is delivered by licensed hospitals; specialist case assessment is provided by Beijing-based orthopedic specialists.

Clinical Partner

Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital · 国家骨科医学中心

A public tertiary hospital designated 国家骨科医学中心 — a National Center for Orthopedics. Orthopedics and sports medicine are national key clinical specialties; trauma surgery and joint surgery are national key clinical specialty development disciplines. These designations are published by the hospital. Clinical care is delivered by the hospital and its physicians.

Why Patients Travel

When local options run out

Patients and their insurers come to us for planned procedures that face long waits at home, that local centres are not equipped to perform, or that carry high out-of-pocket cost in private care. Whether any of these applies depends on the country, the policy and the clinical situation.

Conditions

Cases we coordinate

Hip and knee replacement

Primary joint replacement for advanced arthritis and joint destruction.

Revision joint surgery

Revision of failed or complicated previous joint replacement.

Sports medicine

Ligament reconstruction and arthroscopic repair, typically with short inpatient stays.

This service is designed for planned, elective orthopedic care. It is not an emergency service. Patients with acute trauma or urgent symptoms should seek immediate care locally.

Specialist Assessment

Every case is reviewed before anyone travels

Beijing-based orthopedic specialists review the records and imaging, then issue a written assessment in English covering whether treatment is feasible, the likely surgical direction, and what further information is needed. If specialist review concludes that cross-border referral is not appropriate, we say so and stop.

Cost and Coverage

A written estimate before you commit

How estimates work

Once specialists have reviewed the case, we prepare a treatment plan summary and a written cost estimate before you commit to anything. Final costs depend on the treatment actually delivered and are set by the hospital, not by JINGBEI.

Working with your insurer

We coordinate pre-authorization, guarantee of payment and claims documentation with your insurer or TPA. Coverage for planned treatment overseas varies by policy and requires case-by-case confirmation.
